Reading and searching

Question and media-library search runs in your browser and does not send queries to an AI provider. No prayer or reflection text is collected. Hosting services process technical request data; pages visited may appear in browser history, device synchronization or infrastructure logs. We cannot erase those records from this app.

Optional encrypted device transfer

On the device-transfer page, you can explicitly upload your plan, saved resource IDs, finished lesson IDs, and regional and reading preferences. Your browser encrypts this copy before upload. The recovery code never leaves the browser; it derives separate encryption and access keys. The service stores ciphertext, a hash of the access key, revision numbers, and timestamps. Hosting systems still process connection metadata.

The code grants access to read, update, or delete that copy. There is no support recovery if you lose it. The active service stops serving a copy 180 days after its last upload and removes expired records during background maintenance. Deletion removes the active record; provider backups follow their own retention. Restored device copies must be removed separately. Manual transfer happens when you choose. You can separately unlock automatic synchronization for your saved plan and library while the app is open and visible. That session checks about once a minute, pauses offline, and stops on reload or closure. Its recovery key is held in memory, never saved by the app. Conflicting changes require your choice; regional and reading preferences are not automatically synchronized.

Your plan of life

Your chosen starting point, practices, durations, optional clock times and schedule stay in memory for a temporary visit. Only “Remember on this device” stores the plan across visits. It can reveal religious interests to others using the browser. No prayer completion, emotional history, private intentions, sins or sacramental records are collected.

Use the plan editor to change, export or forget it. Your saved plan synchronizes only if you explicitly unlock automatic sync; temporary unsaved plans are excluded. Optional calendar exports follow your calendar provider’s storage and sharing settings.

Gentle prompts

Optional prayer suggestions follow the clock and time zone of your device while Today is open. No location permission, background notification or prayer-completion record is used. Dismissal and pause choices remain in this tab; turning prompts off saves only that preference on this device.

My library

Only after you choose to keep items does the browser store resource IDs and explicit educational reading completion. Prayer performance, intentions and personal notes are excluded. You can remove items, export or import the list, or clear it. Library changes are uploaded only through a manual encrypted transfer or separately unlocked automatic sync. Conflicting changes are never silently merged.

Regional preferences

Country, publication language, time zone, Catholic tradition, calendar selection and reduced-data preferences are optional. They remain in this visit unless you choose to remember them on this device. We do not infer religion or location from your IP address. Device read-aloud is offered only when your browser reports a locally installed voice.

Offline reference

Choosing “Save offline reference” stores the public collection of source answers and prayers and its search script in this browser. The offline plan editor is also saved as public app code; it can open a plan you explicitly saved in this browser. No personal plan is copied into the page cache. Visits, questions, daily readings, recordings and account pages are not cached. Browser storage can be cleared by the device; downloaded HTML and PDF files must be deleted separately.

Videos, podcasts and external sources

Hosted books and prayer texts load from this website. Daily readings and recording metadata are fetched by our server from fixed, allowlisted USCCB, EWTN, CatholicTV, Daily TV Mass, 10 Minutes with Jesus, Augustine Institute and Meditations in Manhattan feeds. Your questions, plan and reading list are not sent to those publishers.

Reviewed YouTube recordings use the privacy-enhanced player and do not load until you choose Play. Podcast players use the publisher’s audio file and request it only when your browser chooses to load or play it. The publisher or its podcast host may then receive technical request data and applies its own privacy terms. Other publisher links open another website. Previously downloaded copies and browser history cannot be recalled or erased by changing this website.

Resource issue reports

The resource ID, content revision, issue category, receipt time and status are stored for up to ninety days when maintenance is operating. No free-text story, attachment or email is requested. Rate limits use a short-lived keyed security bucket; the app does not store the raw network address in a report.

Earlier pilot data

Retiring the pilot did not erase its records. New cloud saving is disabled. An earlier signed-in saved list remains accessible only to its owner through the legacy privacy tools. Deletion removes active records; survival of deletion through provider backup restoration has not been established.
